[caution]This Guide is intended for use with the Aerial theme. If you are using a different Theme or your EKM online shop is in Custom Mode, click here for the correct Guide. [/caution]
Using the Theme Editor, you can customise the layout of your Category and Subcategory Pages universally across your EKM online shop. Before you begin, it’s a good idea to create all of your Categories and Subcategories first and ensure that your navigation is organised.
Locating the Theme Editor
1. From the Dashboard, click the Design tab:
2. Click Layout Editor:
3. This will launch the Theme Editor of your EKM online shop. In the top middle of the page, you can click between the desktop, tablet and mobile symbols to see how your EKM online shop will display on different devices:
4. To edit the layout of your Category Pages, make sure that Category Page is selected on the drop-down menu on the top left-hand side:
Category Page Layout
1. The most important section on your Category Pages is the Category Page Layout. Click the Edit symbol to open it:
2. Click the down arrow to open each section:

3. Within Settings, you can use the drop-down menu to select which Design you want to use on your Category Pages universally across your EKM online shop. Cheese from:
Design One
This Design lists any visible Subcategories at the top of the page. There are two Promo Images on the left-hand side, and below the Subcategories, are all of the Products listed within this Category:
Design Two
This Design displays the Subcategories at the top of the page with the Products underneath. At the bottom of the Category Page are two Promo Images:
Design Three:
For this Design, the Subcategories are still listed at the top above the Products with the Promo Images across the bottom, but the Subcategories are contained within rectangular elements:
Design Four
In this Design, the Subcategories are still listed at the top above the Products with the Promo Images across the bottom, but the Subcategories are contained within larger rectangular elements, with the Category Name overlaid on the Category Image:
Design Five:
This Design displays the Subcategories within square elements across the top of the Category Page, and below this, the left-hand column displays the Promo Images, and the larger right-hand column that makes up the body of the Category Page displays the Products:
4. When you have selected your Design, the next drop-down menu allows you to select the number of Products you would like to display per page within your Category:
5. Finally, you can select the default view for the Products within your Category, and whether you would like them to display in a Grid formation or a List:

6. Within Design, you can use the switches, Colourpicker windows and Opacity slider to customise how Subcategories display on your Category Pages:

7. In these elements of the settings, you can customise each of the Promo Images:
8. You can elect to turn these off entirely using the switches at the top:
9. Below you can upload an image of your own to this area. Click the Select Image button:
10. In the window that appears, click the Upload Image button in the top right-hand corner:
11. In the second window, click the Select File button:
12. When you have located the image on your computer, you’ll see a preview of it in the window. Click the green Upload File button:
13. In the remaining window, click the file name and the image will be applied:
14. Below this are two fields where you can amend the Header and Content text which is overlaid n each Promo Image:
15. Click the Edit symbol to set where you want the Promo Image to link to within your EKM online shop:
16. In the menu that appears, each folder symbol represents a different area of your EKM online shop. Click the green cross symbol to expand the Categories folder and click the Category you want to link to the Button:
[remember]The Category, Product or Webpage that you want to link to sections must be visible and not hidden on your EKM online shop, otherwise, it won’t be visible in the link menu when creating the link.[/remember]
17. Scroll down a little further and you can click the square to amend the colour of the Promo Image Background (if you have not opted to use an image in this area already) and adjust the Text Colour using the Colour Picker window:
Adding Sections
You can use the Theme Editor to add new Sections to your Category Pages too. Simply click the Add Section button:
You can then select a Section from the list, add it to your Category Pages, and edit it following the instructions listed in the relevant Guides:

Hiding Sections
On the left-hand side, you’ll see a list of all the different Sections that make up the current design of your Category Pages. To hide a Section, simply click the eye symbol:
Changing the order of Sections
You can change the order of these Sections by dragging and dropping them, using the burger symbol for each on the left-hand side:
Removing Sections
Other than the essential Sections required - the Header, Footer, Product Layout (on the Product Pages) and the Category Page Layout (on the Category Pages) - all of the other Sections can be deleted by clicking the red Remove Section Button with the Section itself:
Saving your Changes
When you have finished editing your Category Pages, click the green Save button in the bottom left-hand corner:
