Product Calculators : EKM

Product Calculators are an ideal choice for your Product Pages if you have items such as paint, fabric, flooring or wallpaper in range as they allow customers to calculate how much they need according to the area they would like to cover. There are five different Product Calculators available on the EKM online shop platform, each for a different product type:

Paint Calculator

This calculates the total area in metres that a specified single tin of paint can cover. Customers can enter the dimensions of their walls (or other areas) in metres on the Product Page, and the Paint Calculator will work out the total number of tins required. This Calculator also offers an Allow Wastage option, which when ticked, the system can round up, so that the customer can choose to have slightly more than what they need to allow for mistakes.

Wallpaper Calculator

The Wallpaper Calculator can use metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres and needs to know the height and width of the paper per roll to work. On the Product Page, the customer can add the dimensions of one or more walls in metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres, and the Wallpaper Calculator will let them know how many rolls of wallpaper they need to purchase. This Calculator also offers an Allow Wastage option, which when ticked, the system can round up, so that the customer can choose to have slightly more than what they need to allow for mistakes.

Tile Calculator

Here you need to add the measurement of the individual tiles in metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres, as well as the total number of tiles available in each pack (that is, if you don’t sell them individually). This Calculator also offers an Allow Wastage option, which when ticked, the system can round up, so that the customer can choose to have slightly more than what they need to allow for mistakes. On the Product Page, the customer can add the dimensions of one or more walls in metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres, and the Tile Calculator will let them know how many boxes of tiles they need to purchase.

Flooring Calculator

This Calculator can use metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres, and you need to input the Width and Height of each flooring panel, along with the number of flooring panels in each pack. This Calculator also offers an Allow Wastage option, which when ticked, the system can round up, so that the customer can choose to have slightly more than what they need to allow for mistakes. On the Product Page, the customer can add the dimensions of one or more floor areas in metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres, and the Flooring Calculator will let them know how many boxes of panels they need to purchase to complete their project.

Fabric Calculator

The Fabric Calculator uses metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres and you just need to input the width of the fabric and the length/height of the fabric roll. This Calculator also offers an Allow Wastage option, which when ticked, the system can round up, so that the customer can choose to have slightly more than what they need to allow for mistakes. On the Product Page, the customer can add dimensions in metres, feet, centimetres or millimetres and the Calculators will let them know the total cost of the fabric they need.

Installing the Feature

1. From the Dashboard, click the Features tab:

2. On the Features Page, scroll down and you'll see that Product Calculators is already installed on your EKM online shop:3. Now you need to go to the Add/Edit Product window of an existing Product you would like to add a Product Calculator onto - the easiest way to do this is via the Advanced Inventory Manager:
