Meta data is essential to your EKM online shop, as it enables search engines to recognise and know where to display shops within search engine results. Meta Data is automatically generated by your EKM online shop, using Category and Product Titles and Descriptions, Titles and content from your Webpages.
However, if you want to manually amend the automatically generated content to your versions, install the Custom Meta Data feature. The feature itself allows you to create Meta Data for your shop as a whole, and also for each Product, Webpage and Category.
Installing the Feature
1. From the Dashboard, click Features on the left-hand menu:
2. Now you need to click the Feature Library tab:
3. Click the View More button to see all of the Marketing features:
4. Click the Custom Meta Data icon:
5. Click the Install Feature button:
6. Then you need to click the green Launch button in the top right-hand corner:
7. Custom Meta Data is edited in three places - on the Shop Details page you can edit the Custom Meta Data for your EKM online shop as a whole and within Edit Product and Edit Category windows for individual Products and Categories. We’ll begin by editing the Custom Meta Data for the entire shop first. Click the Edit button:
8. This will take you to the Shop Details page. Scroll down toward the bottom of this page To the Shop Meta Data fields:
[tips] If you have a lot of Products, Categories and Webpages on your EKM online shop, then using spreadsheets and the Import/Export system will allow you to quickly upload custom meta data. However, before you begin, add custom meta data to one Category and one Product. After this, generate a spreadsheet of your products and your Categories, and use the manually edited templates for how to format your custom meta data on your spreadsheets. [/tips]

Complete these columns for the rest of your Categories, populating them with the most appropriate titles, descriptions and keywords. When you have finished, scroll to the left and amend the Action column to read ‘Edit Category’:
