[caution]This Guide is intended for use with legacy Themes or EKM online shops in Custom Mode. If you are using the Aerial Theme, please click here for the correct Guide. [/caution]

[intro] When you have completed this Guide, you will have customised and configured the different colour elements on the Theme you’ve applied to your EKM online shop. [/intro]

If you have a brand new EKM online shop and you have uploaded your logo, your Theme’s colour scheme must match that of your logo and your brand aesthetic. If you’re not sure how to find out the hex codes for the different colours you’d like to use, this Guide will show you how to find out.

1. From the Dashboard, click Design on the left-hand menu:

2. Now you need to click Theme on the drop-down options:

3. Then you need to click the Edit button to the far left next to the ‘Theme’ image, and select Change Colours from the drop-down menu:

4. You’ll then see two headers. Click each of these to expand them:

5. This will reveal each of the elements where you can amend the colours to match your branding, using the Colour Picker Tool:

[remember] When you click a colour field, this opens the Colour Picker Tool. You can drag the circle in the largest window to select a shade, and use the slider to the right to select a base colour. There’s also a field for you to add in a specific hex code if you know it. When you have finished selecting your colour, simply click the green tick button to apply that colour, and click the screen off the window to close it down:

[/remember]

[tips] Whilst you are changing the colours of your Theme, it’s a good idea to view the Shop page of your EKM online shop in a separate browser tab so that you can check that the elements complement each other. [/tips]

5. When you have finished editing the colours, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click the green Save button on the right-hand side:

[remember] The number of colours you can edit will depend on what Theme you are using on your EKM online shop. More modern, responsive Themes have more scope for changing colours, whereas older Themes with a separate mobile template will have limited options available. It’s recommended that if you’re using an older Theme and you require more customisation in terms of colour, use your Test Shop and apply different responsive Themes until you find one you’d like to use. This chosen Theme can then be applied to your live shop. You can find a list of all EKM Themes by clicking here. [/remember]
