You can install lots of Payment Methods on your EKM online shop, and it’s encouraged that you do so to ensure that your customers can pay for their goods using their preferred methods. This includes both Manual Payments - such as Payment On Delivery and Purchase Order - but also third-party Payment Gateways that can process the payment automatically, such as Stripe and PayPal Checkout

Of course, what Payment Methods you use depends on your EKM online shop and the Products you sell. Before you install lots of Payment Methods and risk your Checkout Flow becoming too confusing to navigate quickly, it’s worth looking at the most popular versions and making your decision as a result.

How many Payment Gateways do I need?

Essentially, you need to offer your customers a way of paying online using credit and debit cards minimally. The real key is adding the appropriate Payment Methods for your customers but not too many that it leaves your Checkout Flow confusing.

Ultimately, the number and kind of Payment Gateways that you add to your EKM online shop depends on both the products that you sell and your customers. If you’re still not sure which Payment Gateway is most appropriate for your own EKM online shop, please get in contact with our Payment Specialist Team on 01772 957 204, who will be able to take a look at your account and advise the best solution for you.

I’ve run an online shop before, can I use the same Payment Gateway as I did with my old provider?

It depends - if you can see your current Payment Gateway listed in this Guide, then there’s an integration with the EKM online shop platform and you should be able to configure your Payment Gateway to your EKM online shop. However, if you cannot see your Payment Gateway of choice, that means that there is currently no integration with the EKM online shop platform, so it cannot be configured to work with your EKM online shop. You should be able to contact your current Payment Gateway provider to get in contact with EKM and request an integration be built, and you can also add this feature request to the EKM Suggestions Board, which is regularly reviewed by our Development Team.
