Similar to the Google Tools feature, Facebook Pixel allows you to embed Facebook Pixel code onto your EKM online shop in order to monitor your visitor data and enable you to ascertain the success of your Facebook Advertising campaigns. It can help by:

  • Ensuring that your Facebook Ads are shown to people within your target demographic;
  • Drive more sales to your EKM online shop;
  • Accurately report the results of your Facebook Ads, allowing you to really drill down and target the right people with your advertising campaigns. 

When it's been set up, the Facebook Pixel will trigger when someone makes an action on your EKM online shop, such as adding items to the cart or making purchases. The Pixel records these as 'events' which you can then view within your Facebook Business Manager account. You'll be able to see who interacted the most with your content and be able to tailor future promotions and advertising to suit your target demographic perfectly.

Installing the Feature

1. From the Dashboard of your EKM online shop, click the Features tab:

2. On the Features page, scroll down to the More Features box and click the Facebook Pixel feature:

3. On the next page, you need to click the green Install Feature button on the bottom right-hand side:

4. When the feature has been installed, you’ll see this page:

Generating your Pixel

5. Now you need to open a separate browser tab and log into your Facebook Business Manager account, which you will have opened already during the process of creating your Facebook Page and adding a Shop tab onto it. When you’ve logged in, click the burger symbol (the three horizontal lines) in the top left-hand corner and select Business Settings from the menu:

6. On the next page, select Data Sources from the list on the left-hand side:

7. From the options that drop down beneath, select Pixels:

8. On this page, you need to click the blue Add button in the middle of the page:

9. In the window that opens up, you need to give your Pixel a name (usually this would be the name of your EKM online shop) in the first field, and then in the second field, paste in the URL of your Homepage, before clicking the blue Continue button on the bottom right-hand side:

10. In the next window, you need to select ‘Edit your website’s code to set up the Pixel’. Click the grey Set Up Manually button:

11. Now you need to open Notepad on your PC (or if you’re on a Mac, Text Editor) and copy the code in the window provided by clicking it:

12. Paste this code onto your Notepad file, and you should have something which looks like this:

13. The only part of this code you need is the ID. This is the 16 digit number which has been assigned to you, and appears twice in the code. Copy this number:

14. Return to the browser tab displaying your EKM online shop and the Facebook Pixel feature, and paste the number into the top field, before clicking the green Save button on the bottom right-hand side:

15. Your next step is to return to the browser tab displaying your Facebook Business Manager account and click the blue Continue button on the bottom right-hand side of the window:

16. You can now click the grey Cancel button on this second window, as the base code is set up:

17. The Facebook Pixel on your EKM online shop is now set up, and will automatically track the following events:

  • Purchase
  • Complete Registrations
  • Add Payment Info
  • Add To Cart
  • Initiate Checkout
  • View Content.
