Fetchify validates postcodes and addresses to increase conversions on the Checkout Flow. When credits - called 'lookups' - have been added to your Fetchify account, your customers will be able to add their address to the Checkout Flow and Fetchify will present them with a drop-down menu allowing them to select the rest of their address details, saving your customer from individually typing them into the fields provided on your Checkout Flow.

This feature can be especially helpful for customers paying for items using a shared computer (where their details may not be saved by their browser) and is enjoyed by those who particularly hate typing as this feature makes the Checkout Flow easier for them to complete.

As Fetchify is a premium service, it has additional costs. This is because Royal Mail charges businesses for using their postcode data. Pricing is based on a price per lookup and the more credits you buy the cheaper each lookup becomes. Credits are valid for 12 months, starting from the day they are purchased. [caution]If you already use the Postcode Lookup feature, ensure that you have used up all of your existing credits before you install Fetchify. Credits cannot be transferred from Postcode Lookup/Postcode Ferret to Fetchify. Installing Fetchify will uninstall Postcode Lookup and any unused credits will be lost. [/caution]

Installing the Feature

1. From the Dashboard, click the Features tab:

2. On the Features page, scroll down to the More Features box and click the Fetchify icon:

3. You then need to click the green Install Feature button in the bottom right-hand corner:

4. If you already have the Postcode Lookup feature installed, you see this window. Click the green Continue button:

5. You’ll then see this page. You need to click the Sign Up button on the far right-hand side:

6. You’ll then be redirected here to create an account with Fetchify. Complete the form provided and click the blue Register button:

Configuring the Feature

7. When you have opened your account with Fetchify, you will be able to log into your Fetchify dashboard. Click on Access Tokens & Statistics on the left-hand side menu:

8. You then need to click the Access Token:

9. And here, you need to click Copy to get your Access Token:

10. Return to the browser tab displaying your EKM online shop, and within the Fetchify feature, paste your Access Token in the field provided, before clicking the green Update button in the bottom right-hand corner:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I currently have a Postcode Ferret account - what will happen to that?

A: If you already use Postcode Lookup/Postcode Ferret on your EKM online shop, make sure that you have used all of your credits on there before installing the Fetchify feature. Once you have installed the Fetchify feature, refer to your dashboard there to purchase credits.

Q: How do I add credit to my Fetchify account?

A: Credits in Fetchify are called ‘lookups’ and these can be purchased from within your Fetchify account, via the Dashboard. Unlike Postcode Lookup/Postcode Ferret, you won’t need to contact the Customer Support Team at EKM to add credits to your account. 

Q: What if I run out of lookups?

A: Fetchify do send mail reminders when lookups are low, and you won’t be ‘cut off’ when you run out either. Fetchify will allow up to 48 hours’ grace to allow you to top up your lookups.
