[remember]Before you begin, you will need to ensure that if you were previously using the Facebook Messenger feature, it is completely uninstalled. You can only use one chat application at a time![/remember]
Opening a Tawk.to account
1. To begin, you need to click here and then click the green Sign Up Free button:
2. Complete the fields provided on the following pages and click the green button to continue. You need to select the correct language from the drop-down menu before clicking the green button:
3. Now you need to add the name and URL of your EKM online shop into the fields provided. For the Widget Name, add the name of your EKM online shop before clicking the green button:

This is where you can add the email addresses of any of your team that will be using chat to talk to customers, by adding their email into the field provided and clicking the ‘Admin’ or ‘Agent’ button. If you do not wish for that member of staff to see all of the settings on your Tawk.to account, select Agent. Alternatively, if you are the only person that will be chatting with customers, click the green button:

5. For the next step, you need to copy all of the code within the field:
6. Now you need to log into your EKM online shop and click Design on the left-hand menu:
7. Now you need to click Theme on the drop-down options:
7. Click the More Actions button on the far left-hand side of the page, and select Inject Custom Code from the drop-down menu:
8. This will reveal the Before Body field. Paste your code in there, before clicking the green Save button in the bottom right-hand corner:
9. Return to the browser tab displaying Tawk.to and click the green Done button:
[remember]You will need to have a copy of your logo or a glyph version of your logo to upload as the profile picture for your chat window. The profile picture here needs to be 512 pixels square. Don’t forget that if your logo contains a lot of fine details and text, a glyph version of it may be a wiser choice. [/remember]
Configuring your Profile
10. This will then redirect you to the Tawk.to Dashboard. Click the icon on the bottom left-hand corner and select Edit Profile:
11. Here you can amend your name, password and profile picture. Click to Modify Profile Image, and select Upload Photo from the drop-down menu:
12. When you have uploaded your profile picture, click Save on the far right-hand side:
