[intro] Before you begin, it would be a good idea to open a Gmail account and set up GA4 (Google Analytics) and Google Search Console/Merchant Centre accounts first, as all of your data there can be imported into Bing Webmaster Tools as part of the setup process. After completing this guide, you will have set up an account on Bing Webmaster Tools and submitted the Sitemap for your EKM online shop. [/intro]

1. To begin, click here and click Sign In in the top right-hand corner of the page:

2. Ensure you’re signed into the relevant business account and click the most appropriate platform within this modal:

3. When you’ve signed in, you’ll see a window from the selected platform asking permission to sign into Bing. Click Continue:

4. If you have used your Gmail account to sign up for Bing and already set up GA4 and Google Search Console for your EKM online shop on that same account, click Import on the left-hand side. 

If not, then add the domain name of your EKM online shop into the field on the right-hand side and click the Add button. Click here to follow the appropriate steps:

[remember]You must be set as the Administrator on your Google Search Console and GA4 accounts to import your EKM online shop data to Bing Webmaster Tools. [/remember]

5. You’ll then see this page. Click Continue:

6. Select the relevant Gmail account:

7. Then you need to click Continue:

8. Click Allow:

9. Bing will then display your EKM online shop URL. Click Import in the bottom right-hand corner:

10. You’ll then see this notification. Click Done in the bottom right-hand corner:

11. Next, you need to submit your Sitemap.

5. You’ll then see this page. Click HTML Meta Tag: 

6. Click the Copy button:

7. In a separate browser tab, log into your EKM online shop and click Design on the left-hand menu:

8. On the Design page, click Edit on the left-hand side, and click Inject Custom Code:

9. Scroll down to the HTML Head Code field, and paste the HTML code from Bing after any existing code you have in there already:

10. Now you need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Save button on the right-hand side:

11. Return to the browser tab displaying Bing Webmaster Tools, and click the blue Verify button:

12. You should then see this notification. Click the blue Done button in the bottom right-hand corner:

Submitting your Sitemap

13. You’ll then be redirected to this page, Bing Webmaster Tools's dashboard. You need to click on Sitemaps:

14. You now need to click the blue Submit Sitemap button:

15. You need to add your Sitemap URL in the window that appears. Your Sitemap address is your domain name, followed ‘sitemap.xml’. When you’ve added the Sitemap URL, click the blue Submit button:

16. You’ll then see your Sitemap listed with the status of ‘processing’, as Bing will need to review all of the data within it, which will take around 48 hours. Your next step is to click Home on the top left-hand side:

This will return you to the Bing Webmaster Tools dashboard. It is worth bookmarking this page to return to when your EKM online shop has been correctly indexed.
