On your EKM online shop, you may wish for some Products to be hidden. This is for a variety of reasons, including the Product awaiting Product Images or other details added to it, or the Product being out of stock for a long period. The Hidden Product settings within the back end of your EKM online shop determine what happens with these Hidden Products.

Locating the Setting

1. From the Dashboard, click Settings in the bottom left-hand corner:

2. Now you need to click Hidden Products on the bottom left-hand side:

Enable Direct Access

When you arrive on the Hidden Products page, the first box you encounter is to Enable Direct Access. If you tick this box, this means that customers will be able to view Hidden Products if they have a direct link (if the customer had saved a specific Product within their browser favourites, for example):

Allow Purchase

When you do tick the box to enable customers with a direct link to view a Hidden Product, you will see another tick box revealed:

The Allow Purchase box is ticked by default, but it is recommended that you untick this box before pressing the green Save button:

[tips]It is advised that you tick the box to Enable Direct Access and untick the box for Allow Purchase. This ensures that should a customer have saved a direct link to an item which you have since hidden, they will be able to visit the Product Page but there will be no Add To Cart button on the Product which will prevent it from being ordered. This provides a better customer experience than unticking the Enable Direct Access box, which would display a 404 error page when the customer tried to view the Product directly from their browser’s favourites.
