[intro]Doofinder is a third-party platform who provide code that you can add onto your EKM online shop to improve the search functionality by providing the results visually. Before you begin, you need to ensure that you have correctly pointed a domain name at your EKM online shop, populated it with some Products and Categories and added the Google Tools feature onto your EKM online shop. You will also need to add an offline Payment Gateway such as Fax to your EKM online shop temporarily whilst you configure Doofinder. This can be removed when everything has been set up.

1. Before you begin, you need to open an account on Doofinder. To do this, click here and add in an email and password, or alternatively, click to sign up with your existing Google account.

2. You’ll receive an email with a link in it which you need to click to verify your email address. This will open on this page, where you need to enter the name and the URL of your EKM online shop before clicking the blue Continue button on the bottom left-hand side:

3. The next step is to select the language, currency and sector of your EKM online shop by using the drop-down menus, before clicking the blue Continue button in the bottom left-hand corner:

4. You then need to add in the URL of your EKM online shop without the domain name applied. You can find this on the Domain Name page:

5. Copy this into the relevant field in Doofinder, before clicking Authorize & Continue:

6. You will then need to log in to your EKM online shop by adding your details into the fields provided. You’ll then see this notification - click Allow to allow Doofinder to connect with your EKM account:

7. Your next step is to insert the Doofinder Layer Script on your EKM online shop. To do this, click the green button:

8. Using the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the page, select ‘Other’ and click the green Continue button: 

9. Use the drop-down menu for the Layer Type field and select ‘Fullscreen’:

10. You then need to show Doofinder where your Search bar on your EKM online shop is. Click the blue Choose Search Box button and then click the Search bar in the preview of your EKM online shop:

11. This will then reveal the Branding Options and the Layout Options on the left-hand side. Click Brand Options:

12. You then need to click the blue Choose button for the Site Logo field, and then click your logo in the preview of your EKM online shop to populate the Site Logo field automatically. You’ll then need to paste in the URL of your homepage into the Target URL field before clicking the green Save button:

13. On the next page, you will see a box containing some code. Highlight all of this code and copy it:

14. Now you need to open a separate browser tab and log into your EKM online shop. Navigate to the Features page, and open the Google Tools feature. Paste the code from Doofinder into the Google Analytics Tracking Code field:

15. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Save button on the right-hand side:

16. Your next step is to visit your EKM online shop via an incognito/in-private browser window, put a product in the cart and use the offline Payment Gateway to process the order. You need to get to the Order Complete page and copy the URL from it:

17. Return to the browser tab displaying Doofinder, and click the Statistics tab:

18. Click the cog symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of the Conversion Rate field:

19. Paste the URL of the Order Complete page into the relevant field in the Confirmation URL Fragment window, deleting the excess parts so only the ‘/index’ to ‘PAYMENTCOMPLETE’ part remains, then add an asterisk at the end before clicking the green Save button:

20. Now you have added the free version of Doofinder to your EKM online shop, it is worth learning more about the platform.
