[remember]This feature is only available for EKM online shops on the Advanced and Pro tiers. If you wish to have this functionality on your own EKM online shop, you will need to upgrade your account first.[/remember]

Trade Discounts allow you to set up specific discounts for trade customers on your EKM online shop. You can set up your shop to ensure that customers have to log in before it’s possible for them to view the product prices. Individual products can be excluded from Trade Discounts, so you can pick and choose which items your trade customers can apply their discount to. You can also create different Price Lists within this feature and customer accounts can then be assigned to Price Lists accordingly.

[remember]Before you begin, you need to install the Customer Login feature on your EKM online shop. [/remember]

[warning] You cannot use the Trade Discounts feature if Klarna is your payment gateway. [/warning]

Installing the Feature

1. From the Dashboard, click the Features tab:

2. On the Features page, scroll down and click the Trade Discounts icon:

3. Click the green Install Feature button:

Configuring Settings

When the feature loads, you’ll see this page. Click the Settings tab on the top right-hand side:

Allow Public Access

In the window, you can choose whether you want to Allow Public Access. This means that anyone without an account on your EKM online shop can see Products with their prices displayed. Tick the box if you wish to Allow Public Access.

If you then untick this box, you’ll be offered the option to Enable Webpage Password Protection, by ticking the box next to any Webpages you wish to remain hidden from customers who are not logged into accounts on your EKM online shop.

Only Show Prices and Add To Cart Buttons to Trade Accounts

Below the Allow Public Access Box, you can tick a second box. If you do this, the Product Prices and Add To Cart buttons will not be visible to customers to your EKM online shop unless they’ve signed in:

When you’ve finished making changes within the settings, click the green Save button on the bottom right-hand corner of the window:

[remember]If both buttons are ticked then visitors to your EKM online shop won’t be able to see Product Prices or Add To Cart Buttons, but your Trade Customers will be able to. [/remember]

Add Your First Price List

1. Your next step is to add your first Price List. Click the green button in the middle of the page:

2. You’ll then see this page. Give a name to this Price List in the field provided and then click the drop-down menu to select your Discount Type:

In terms of your Discount Type, you can choose from:

  • Percentage (%) Off All Products

  • Individual Product Pricing

[caution]The names of your Price Lists must be unique - bear this in mind if you’re creating several different Price Lists on your EKM online shop. [/caution]

Percentage (%) Off All Products

If you select to offer a percentage off all Products, you need to select how much in the field provided, and then click the green Save button on the right-hand side:

Percentage (%) Off Specific Products

If you choose to offer a percentage off specific Products, again you’ll need to add a percentage amount in the field provided, but this time you will need to click the Choose Product button on the right-hand side:

In the window that opens, you simply need to tick the box next to the Products that will be reduced for customers that you’ve applied to this Price List. If you have a lot of Products, you can search for their name using the search bar at the top of the window. To the far right of the search bar, you can select either Name or Category, which will allow you to locate a specific Category and list all of the Products within it. When you have selected your Products, simply click the green Add Changes button on the bottom right-hand side of the window:

You’ll then see the Products you’ve added to this Price List towards the bottom of the page. You now need to click on the green Save button on the right-hand side:

In the window that opens, you simply need to tick the box next to the Products that will be reduced for customers that you’ve applied to this Price List. If you have a lot of Products, you can search for their name using the search bar at the top of the window. To the far right of the search bar, you can select either Name or Category, which will allow you to locate a specific Category and list all of the Products within it. When you have selected your Products, simply click the green Add Changes button on the bottom right-hand side of the window:

You’ll then see the Products listed on the page below. Your next step is to click within the fields provided and add in the new prices, before clicking the green Save button on the bottom right-hand corner:

[caution]Changing the price of a Master Product will automatically change the price of the Product’s Variants to the same value - bear this in mind when assigning prices. Also, clearing the price completely will revert the Product and any of its Variants to the original price.

Finally, if you change the price of the Product elsewhere within your EKM online shop, it's important that you review the Product Price within any of your existing Price Lists. [/caution]
