What are Product Attributes?

Product Attributes are essentially labels that you can add to the Products within your EKM online shop to make them easier for customers to find. Attributes such as Size, Colour and Brand are good examples and the most common to see online. This example below is from the clothing website Asos.com. When you click into a Category Page on Asos, you can organise the products in it according to size, style, brand and colour:

This functionality is possible because of the different labels - Attributes - that have been applied to each product. It provides a good user experience for your customers as instead of trawling through lots of different products, they can quickly identify the products that they are looking for. You can offer this same functionality on your EKM online shop, by firstly applying the Attributes and then by setting up the Product Filters on your Categories; the Product Filters are what the customers see that enable them to filter your products according to their needs. The Product Attributes feature is what you need to use to assign different characteristics to your Products, such as Brand Names, Product Codes, SKUs, MPNs, GTINs, Weights and Colours, for example. Since the product ranges sold on EKM online shop vary so much, this feature allows you to pick and choose which attributes can be added to your Products.

Installing the Product Attributes feature

1. To install the feature, click the Features tab:

4. You’ll then be able to see the options within the Product Attributes feature:
