[intro] This guide will show you how to add Product Codes to Products with and Products without Variants. This is useful if you sell Products which your customers recognise by their Product Code, such as plumbing and building supplies. [/intro]

As well as using the Edit Product window to add Product Codes to a Product, you can also use spreadsheets and the Import/Export System too. It is recommended that you first add Product Codes to a single Product manually beforehand so that when you generate a spreadsheet listing the Products on your EKM online shop, you can use that Product as a template for where and how the Product Codes should be added. Before you begin, within the Product Attributes feature you need to tick the box to Enable Product Codes before saving your changes:

Products without Variants

1.Within the Edit Product window, click the Attributes tab:

2. Add the Product Code into the field provided before clicking the green Save button on the bottom right:

Special Offer refers to whether the Product is a Featured Product and Enable Add To Cart Button is as it suggests - if the box here is unticked, it removes the Add To Cart button, preventing people from purchasing that Product.

Products with Variants

If the Product you’re looking at does have Variants applied to it, the Attributes tab looks slightly different. There’s now no field for you to add the Product Code as the system recognises that the different Variants of this Products will each have different Product Codes.

1.With that in mind, to add the Product Codes to your Variants, you would click the Variants Tab first:
