Innercircle is a brilliant option to use on your EKM online shop whether you’re just finishing the set-up or you’ve been in business for a long time and need to increase activity on your associated social media profiles. 

With Innercircle, you can set up a range of tasks for customers complete, such as:

  • Leaving a review for your EKM online shop on your Facebook Page;
  • Tagging on of their friends in the comments of one of your social media posts;
  • Providing you with product feedback;
  • Making an Instagram story about one of your products.

This is done by Innercircle setting automated emails to your customers who have opted in to be Ambassadors for your brand, and in turn, you can offer these customers special rewards for completing specific goals that you have set for them.   

Accessing the Feature

1. From the Dashboard, click the Features tab:

2. Now you need to click the Feature Library tab:

3. Scroll down to the Marketing Features and click the View More button on the right-hand side:

4. Now you need to click the Innercircle icon:

5. Click on the View Website in the bottom right-hand corner:

6. This will redirect you to Innercircle, where you need to begin by creating an account. Complete the fields provided and click the blue button on the bottom left-hand side:

7. You’ll then see this page, where Innercircle is requesting to access some information from your EKM online shop. You need to click the green Allow button:

8. On this page, you can select up to 5 different goals. These can consist of a combination of different kinds of feedback from your customers, requesting reviews on different platforms, boosting your social presence, or using a referral program. When you have made your choices, click the blue button in the bottom right-hand corner:

9. You’ll then need to upload a copy of your logo:

[tips]For the best possible results, ensure that you have uploaded a correctly sized logo. If your EKM online shop logo has a lot of detail, you may be best creating a glyph version and using that instead. [/tips]

10. When you’ve uploaded a copy of your logo, use the drop-down menu to select a font and click within the colour boxes to select a Card Colour and a Background Colour for your cards. When you have done this, click the blue next button in the bottom right-hand corner:

11. You’ll then see this page. Click the blue button to continue:

12. Now you need to complete the fields provided before clicking the blue verify button:

13. You’ll then see this window appear. Click the blue button to verify the email address you added to the field:

14. You’ll then receive an email from Innercircle to that email address. Click the link within it to verify, and this will redirect you to the Innercircle login screen and then back to the Dashboard. From there, you need to nominate how many days after purchase you would like your customers to be emailed, and from there, click the purple Save button:

15. If you scroll further down the page, you’ll see Circles. This is related to the goals you selected when you initially signed up for Innercircle. You need to click each of these to edit the emails that will be sent to your customers to encourage them to complete a specific action. When you have completed each one, click the Mark As Done button in the bottom right-hand corner:

16. Scroll down further and you’ll see Rewards, if you opted for this when you signed up for Innercircle initially. Again, you need to click the Select Reward button, and configure this according to the reward you will give customers for completing the actions you have stated within Circles. When you have done this, click the Mark As Done button in the bottom right-hand corner:

17. Scroll down further and you’ll see Invitation. Again, you need to configure this, as this is the email customers will receive to encourage them to complete the actions within the Circles you configured above. When you have done this, click the Mark As Done button in the bottom right-hand corner:

18. Finally, at the bottom of the page, you’ll see Launch. You can click the Launch Program button on the bottom right-hand side when you have completed all of the elements above:

When you have clicked Launch, you will then be able to view the Innercircle dashboard. From here, you can see an overview of the success of your circles and rewards. Don't forget to click Tiers on the left-hand side to set up a program for your customers. Click the Enrollment tab on the left-hand side to create an application form for your customers. Finally, click the Settings tab and the different tabs within it to ensure that all of your details are correct.

Installing Innercircle on your EKM online shop

19. From the Dashboard, click the Design tab:

20. Click the More Actions button in the bottom left-hand corner beneath your Theme and from the drop-down list, select Inject Custom Code:

21. Scroll down to the bottom of this Guide and click the link to download the HTML Head Code file. Open it, and copy the code from within:

22. When you have pasted in the code into the HTML Head Code field (after any existing code that was already in there), scroll down and click the green Save button in the bottom right-hand corner:

23. Now to you to scroll to the top of the page and click the Settings tab:

24. Click Checkout:

25. Scroll down to Checkout Steps, and click the last one on the bottom row, ‘Order Complete’:

26. Click Edit on the right of Order Complete Messages:

27. You’ll have an Edit Success Message button for each of the Payment Gateways you have on your EKM online shop. You will need to repeat this process for each one. Click the Edit Success Message button:

28. In the window that appears, you need to click the grey Source button on the top left-hand side:

29. This will reveal the source code of the Success Message that your customers see when they have successfully paid for their order and been redirected to your EKM online shop. You now need to scroll down to the bottom of this Guide, download the Success Message file, and copy the code within:

30. Paste this below any existing code, before clicking the green Save button on the bottom right-hand side:

31. Repeat this process for the rest of your Payment Gateways so that you have added this code to the Source of each Success Message. 

How to request consent on your EKM online shop for Innercircle

For your Innercircle integration to work, you need to request consent from your customers on the Checkout Flow. This ensures that consenting customers will receive emails from Innercircle on your behalf, and customers who don’t consent will not be included. 

[caution]If you use the PayPal Checkout on your EKM online shop, ensure that you have turned off the option for PayPal Express to be displayed on the Cart page beforehand, to ensure that all customers proceed through the Checkout Flow and have the option of opting to receive emails from Innercircle. You can turn off PayPal Express on the Cart page by following the steps in this Guide. [/caution] 

32. From the Dashboard, click the Settings tab:

33. Click Checkout:

34. Scroll down to the Checkout Steps and click Order Summary:

35. Click the Edit button for Additional Information Fields:

36. Click the green button:

37. Click Select Field Type for Radio Button:

38. For the Field Name, you need to add some text such as: ‘I would like to receive emails regarding my order, special deals and offers!’ to make it clear what will be received by a customer if they decide to opt-in. For the Radio Button Options, add ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ to the Option Text fields, and then click the green button on the right-hand side:

39. When your Additional Information Field has been added, you’ll it displayed like this:


Your final step is to test out your integration with Innercircle has been configured correctly by performing a test order. Be sure to use an email account which is completely separate from your EKM online shop, and use this to check that the emails, questionaires and rewards you've set up on Innercircle are triggering correctly.
