[intro]Before you begin, you need to have pointed a domain at your EKM online shop and have your bank account details to hand as you’ll need these to configure Stripe. [/intro]

Installing Stripe

1. From the Dashboard, click the Settings tab:

2. Click Add New Gateway on the left-hand side:

3. Scroll down to the Third Party Payments element and select Stripe from the drop-down:

4. Now you need to click the green Add button:

5. Click Connect with Stripe on the right-hand side:

6. You now need to add your email address into the field provided before clicking the Continue button:

7. Add a password into the field provided, and then click Continue:

[tips]Remember to make your password a minimum of eight characters, comprising of upper and lower case letters, numbers and a symbol such as $ or £ for extra security. [/tips]

8. Add your mobile number into the field provided and click Send Text:

9. In the window that appears, add in the number which is texted to your mobile phone, before clicking Confirm. Then you will see this page. Click Download to save this code somewhere safe, as you will need it if you ever lose access to your mobile phone, and then click Next:

10. You then need to ensure that your correct country is listed in the drop-down field and complete the fields for Business Address, and Type of Business, before clicking the Continue button:

11. Scroll further down the page and complete the fields for your Legal Name, Email Address, Date of Birth and Phone Number, before clicking Continue:

12. Now you need to add your VAT Number (if your business is registered), select your Industry from the drop-down menu, add in the URL of your EKM online shop and finally, add a statement into the field provided, such as ‘We sell [item type] and customers are charged during checkout’, before clicking the Continue button:

13. Complete the fields for Bank Account Currency, Country, Sort Code, Account Number and Account Number confirmation, before clicking Continue:

14. Now you need to add some Customer Support Details so the name of your EKM online shop is displayed clearly on your customer’s bank statements, and your Customer Support Phone number, before clicking Continue:

[tips]You can only use letters and numbers in the Descriptor fields. Do not use commas, apostrophes or similar. [/tips]

15. You can choose to either donate to fight climate change here, or click Not Right Now:

16. Review your details on this final page, before scrolling down to click the Done button:

17. You’ll then be redirected to the Payments page of your EKM online shop. You’ll notice that there’s three green ticks under your Stripe Payment Status:

18. Now you need to locate the email from Stripe - check the email inbox for the address that you used to sign up to Stripe, not forgetting to check your spam/junk folders too - and click the purple button to confirm:

19. You’ll then be asked to enter your password in the field provided, before clicking the Done button:

20. You’ll then be redirected to your Stripe Dashboard:

21. Now you have confirmed your email address and logged into your new Stripe account, you will notice you now have four green ticks underneath the Stripe Payment Status on your EKM online shop:
