[intro] We’ve updated the Checkout Flow on the EKM online shop to be more streamlined, making it even easier for your customers to pay for their goods in the fastest possible time. In this Guide, you’ll get to see the layout of our new Checkout Flow. Don’t forget if you want to test it out for yourself to see how it appears on your own EKM online shop, you will need to use an incognito/in-private browser for the best possible results.

Based on the results of independent research and customer feedback, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve updated the Checkout Flow on the EKM online shop platform to increase the number of conversions and improve its aesthetic design.
Front End view
When a customer visits your EKM online shop and adds a Product to the Cart, the Cart page displays like this:
Clicking Checkout Securely will take the customer to the first step of your new Checkout Flow, Your Account. You’ll notice that a summary of what the customer has purchased is visible on the right-hand side of the page, along with any discounts that have been applied. The customer needs to add their email address into the field provided before clicking the Delivery Details button on the bottom right-hand side:
[warning]If Klarna is a Payment Gateway on your EKM online shop, you’ll see the standard Klarna checkout first. The new Checkout Flow on your EKM online shop will be accessible if you have another Payment Gateway installed as well as Klarna, and you’re able to select Alternative Payment Method on the Klarna checkout. [/warning]
The Delivery Details page is where the customer adds their Delivery Address and selects which Delivery Method they want to use for their order. When they have completed the required fields, they need to click the Order Summary button on the right-hand side of the page, beneath the Order Summary:
The next page of the Checkout Flow is the Order Summary, where the customer can see what Products are on the order, what discounts and what Delivery Methods have been applied. Their next step is to select their Payment Method and click the Payment button on the right-hand side of the page:
Using an offline Payment Gateway - we’re using Fax in our example - the Payment Methods step of the Checkout Flow is skipped entirely and the customer will see the Order Complete page. On this page, customers can make an account on your EKM online shop (if you have Customer Login enabled) and a summary of their order:
[remember] If the customer did not use an offline Payment Gateway to purchase their Products, they would be redirected to the Payment Gateway platform to complete their order for the Payment Details step of the Checkout Flow. When the transaction was completed with the Payment Gateway, the customer would then be redirected to the Order Complete page of your EKM online shop Checkout Flow.[/remember]
Back End view
In the back end of your EKM online shop, it is still possible to add custom messages onto the Cart page in the same manner as before - by using the empty elements both above and below the cart itself:
Of course, we understand that every EKM online shop is unique and how you customise the Settings and design your Checkout Flow may be specific to your shop. With that in mind, the following screenshots will be able to illustrate how different aspects of your customisations will be visible.
Discounts
If you have the Discount Management feature installed, any applied Discounts are visible from the Cart page and on each page of the Checkout Flow. You’ll also notice that if you have allowed customers to add Promo Codes on the Cart page, they can still add these too:
Additional Information
If you have added Additional Information Fields to the Order Summary page of your Checkout Flow, you will see these display on the left-hand side of the page:
Delivery Widget
If you have activated the Choose Delivery Widget on the Cart page within your Settings, you’ll see it appear like this:
However, if you select Estimate Delivery Widget instead, it will appear on the Cart page like this:
